Brazilian Beer Competition

New records from the next edition will establish the Brazilian Beer Competition as one of the largest in the world

There are more than 4 thousand samples, from 565 breweries in the country

The 11th edition of the Brazilian Beer Competition (CBC), between March 6 and 8, 2023, in Blumenau (SC), consolidates the event as one of the largest in the world. There are 4,085 samples entered by 565 breweries (12% more than last year’s event) from 25 Brazilian states – the largest participation in its history. “We have established ourselves as a world reference, quite an achievement for our country, given such representation”, celebrates Develon da Rocha, president of the Blumenauense Association of Tourism, Events and Culture (ABLUTEC), organizer of the event.

According to Juliana Oliveira, general coordinator of the CBC, “now we are in practically the entire country, with a record number of subscribers”. The samples will be judged at the Don Concept Hall, while the awards will take place in sector 3 of Parque Vila Germânica, within the Brazilian Beer Festival. Both are during the Brazilian Beer Week, which also brings together the 1st International Conference of Beer Contests, the delivery of the Brazilian Beer Commendation, the International Beer Congress and the Brazilian Beer Fair – all between March 5th and 11th.

Other news for this edition are the partnerships signed with other international contests. CBC 2023 Best of Show beers will have free registration in the Brussels Beer Challenge, in Belgium, and in the European Beer Star, in Germany. And the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals in the Italian Grape Ale and Sour Italian Grape Ale categories will have free registration in the Italian Grape Ale world competition, in Italy “An unprecedented exchange of knowledge and dissemination”, says Rocha.
